Pittsburgh PA
Mitt i högtrafiken kom vi till Pittsburgh i fredags. Vi bor i området som kallas Main och det är också här som skolor och universiteten ligger tätt intill varandra. En kort promenad för att äta tog vi när vi hade checkat in på hotellet. På kvällen var det fyrverkeri i stan, mäktigt som bara den. De firade Pittsburgh 225 år.
In the middle of peak traffic, we came to Pittsburgh on Friday. We live in the area called the Main, and it is also here that schools and universities are located close together. We took a short walk to have something to eat after we had checked in at the hotel. In the evening there were the fireworks in town for celebration of Pitt's 225th anniversary, the biggest homecoming ever.
Våra föreläsningar idag hade vi i teatersalongen i Carnegie Library/Museum. Biblioteket har ett helt våningsplan för släktforskning med tillgång till imponerande samlingar. Här önskade vi att kunde stanna i flera dagar men det får bli en annan gång.
Our lectures today we had in the theater in the Carnegie Library / Museum. The library has an entire floor for genealogy with access to impressive collections. If we could we had wanted to stay here for several days but it will be another time.
